About the Employer:

Our client, a supplier to the construction industry, is recruiting an experienced Health & Safety Officer to manage all aspects of Health and Safety across multiple sites in Ireland and the UK. This position is based in Meath and will require some travel.

As Health & Safety Officer, your duties & responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring legal compliance and the coordination/organisation of H&S management
  • Advising all level of employees in relation to H&S matters
  • Being the point of contact to ensure the coordination/organisation of SHEQ management
  • Ensuring compliance and implementing and managing the
    ISO 9001 quality system
  • Carrying out SMS audits and workplace inspections in both Ireland and the UK
  • Monitoring and tracking compliance inspections
  • Developing risk assessments
  • Developing SHEQ policies and procedures
  • Managing vendor subscriptions and questionnaires
  • Incident investigation and reporting
  • Preparing health and safety information for reporting purposes
  • Developing and delivering SHEQ training material
  • Implementing health & safety risk management projects and initiatives
  • Conducting and delivering training, events and seminars
  • Preparing budgets and monitoring departmental spends
  • Supporting and contributing to wider projects

The Successful Candidate:

  • You have a Qualification in Health & Safety and a minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience
  • You have experience working with management systems, developing policies and procedures
  • You are a chartered member of the IOSH or working towards membership
